locations.geocode failed

nessa says:
I am consistently having a problem adding locations using Mac OS with Safari and Firefox.

When I try to search for a location, nothing seems to happen. Occasionally I get the error message "locations.geocode failed" and sometimes "Try again" doesn't work and sometimes it does. When it does work, I am then able to add all the locations I want until I close the webpage. Then I get the same problem all over again.

I've tried clearing the cache, restarting the browser, etc. Any ideas?

Thanks for reporting this. We've seen a similar problem in the past that was caused by a change on Google's end (with the way Maps works). We'll investigate this again to see if there was another change or something else going on.

I've been getting this too - both from the IE version and the iPhone version. I tried the "help" items about allowing ActiveX, etc, but it still does it.

This has now been fixed (it was due to a change in the Google Maps API).

If you encounter any further issues, please let us know.

Thanks! :)

I don't think it's completely fixed... I can add locations, but once I'm at that place, I can't zoom in or out, or move the map.

Tom, if you haven't done so already, would it be possible to submit a Locations issue report via our support system with details about what's happening?

Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.

Thanks!
