Can the RTM Firefox extension for GMail get an option on putting itself to left side?

No, unfortunately not. However, you can use the Gmail Gadget to show on the left side. (Also, you can change the position on the left. See the FAQ under "Can I change the position of the gadget?")
It's not quite as feature-rich as the extension, so you may have to decide which is more important.
