Gmail error: "Invalid gadget specification"
pinku.surana says:
I'm trying to load the rmilk gmail gadget. I've enabled it in Labs and supplied the following url in Gadgets: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/modules/gmail/rtm.xml.
When I click add, I get the following error:
"Invalid gadget specification. Ensure URL is correct and the gadget does not contain errors."
I've tried this in Firefox, Chrome and IE (on XP and Vista). I've cleared my cache and reloaded GMail. Any ideas?

It used to work [like yesterday] but today it stopped working.

I've got the same problem, but also with the second link posted by theberge43

Sorry you are having trouble. Do either of you use HTTPS for your Gmail? If so, you could run into some conflicts; we have a solution posted.
If not, could you possibly try disabling other Labs features to see if one is conflicting?

@andrewski: Thx a lot! Adding the https-URL has solved my issue!
Now RTM is working in gmail again! :-)
Best regards
Dieter

Excellent Dieter, glad that helped. :)
This seems to be a temporary problem with the way Gmail has been loading the gadget; we'll keep you posted of any updates, but for now the HTTPS gadget URL is the best workaround.

@andrewski: Thanks for the tip. I've turned off all Labs features except offline email, still fails. I tried running with http and https, still failed. However, I tried with https and the new link you provided and it works. So there's some problem with the http rmilk link.
But it works for now. Thanks.

I'm glad that works. We have some information on our status blog now too. (And we'll keep that updated as anything develops!)

If you don't want https for some reason, try removing the www from the gadget url:
