2 Questions: view all and change order

First, I would like to see a single list of all of my tasks, regardless of their location.
Second, I would like to change the order that I see the items, but "priority" and "due date" are too blunt-edged to provide much control.
Can I do either of these things already? Can you implement them?

Yes, and no.
First, from Emily: You can create a view of all your tasks first -- create an 'All Tasks' list by searching for all tasks (just leave the search box blank) and then creating a Smart List (click on the 'Save' tab).
Second, sorting is limited to alphabetical, date, and priority. Sorry - I wish that was not the case.
