My wife has an account, but doesn't login. I would like to still "share" tasks with her so I can see the task and she can still be reminded (she does check her email).

It's still, unfortunately, an issue that's on our list to resolve (it's fairly complicated, as we need to provide more customised reminder options so that people can choose whether or not they want to receive reminders for others' tasks that they're sharing).
