Calendar and Delay

I have subscribed to the ical link using ical and gcal. (just testing both)
I set a time for a task. I hit refresh on the calendar and I get nothing.
No updates. Sometimes it takes almost over night for the changes to show up.
What is the deal with that? That does not make it very convenient to use if I am changing my tasks on the fly.
Am I possibly using the wrong links?
Thanks.

Hi t.grier,
I believe that Google Calendar refreshes iCalendar subscriptions every 3hrs or so (although it appears sometimes it can take up to 6-8hrs). I don't think there's a way to manually force it to refresh in Google Calendar, unfortunately.
With iCal, would it be possible to double check the refresh interval? Ctrl-click on the calendar in the list on the left, then select 'Get Info'. There's an 'auto-refresh' option at the bottom of the dialog.
Hope this helps!

understood on the gcal issue.
But in the ical situation you can manually refresh and that does not do it.
I have my interval set to every hour.
I just got the iphone app today. I might just forgo the ical sync and focus on my RTM iphone combo.
Love your app/site etc.
