How to prevent insertion of "http://" in URLs?

ceharon says:
Hello,

I would like to use to use Mailplane URLs (http://mailplaneapp.com/features/entry/mailplane_urls/) in my tasks. However, when I specify a URL such as mailplane://whatever, RTM inserts "http://" so wind up with http://mailplane://whatever. Which of course, breaks the URL.

Is there anyway to stop the insertion of http:// ?

Hi ceharon,

Right now, it won't accept custom protocols, but this is something we have on our list to fix.

Hope this helps.

I realize this is a kludge but TinyURL and several other URL shortening services will take one sort of URL and give you an http proxy for it. This would then work with RTM.

Works on my Mac; have not tried it under Windoze.

Wow...Thanks. TinyURL will make a good workaround until custom protocols are allowed.

Thank You,
