I have a task "Confirm Expenses Approved" which repeats every Friday morning.

If they are not approved, I add the tags "FollowUp", "Boss"

This adds the tags to both the "current" task and the one scheduled for next week.
Is there a way, other than creating a new "Chase Expenses" task, that I can add tags to "instances" of tasks?
