How to get reminders via SMS - T-Mobile Netherlands
snakedoc says:
1. beside entering the appropriate settings in RTM you also need to activate your mobile with T-Mobile NL
2. this is accomplished by sending an SMS msg to 888 with the text EMAIL ON
3. once you receive a reply SMS confirming activation you need to send a second SMS to 888 with the text EMAIL BODY n ( where n is the maximum number of SMS messages you allow ( at 160 characters each ) to contain the body of the forwarded E-mail.
4. when a reminder is sent from RTM , Twitter or Gcal - the 1st SMS will contain the from address and the subject text, and the following SMS messages ( up to n ) will contain the body text identified by 1/3, 2/3, 3/3 . etc
5. the reason you need to activate the second option is that RTM does not include a subject in their SMS notification - only the body text.
6. to turn these options off -
send to 888 the following -
EMAIL BODY OFF
EMAIL OFF
7. the email address that works for me is -
+316xxxxxxxx@gin.nl ( where xxxxx is your mobile number )
this email address can also be used for other stuff - like having a filter in your gmail account that forwards only certain messages to this email.
8. I noticed that latency is about 1 minute between sending the email msg and receiving the SMS.
9. there are of course various subscription options for SMS msgs with T-Mobile that reduce the costs to almost nil ( with a biz account it is nil for hundreds of msgs per month ).
