managing lists

debby.hallett says:
I use This Week as my main list. I would like to exclude from that list all tasks that have a List type of DAR.

I THINK that's what I want. I don't want DAR tasks to show up in my This Week list, but only when I actually click on DAR in my lists. If that makes sense. (I only do this work on certain days, so don't want these tasks on my main list.)

What's the best way to do this? (I don't know how to use tags, so maybe there's a better solution there?)

Hi debby.hallett,
Thanks for getting in touch. This should be possible, though I'm not exactly sure I understand how you have your lists set up, so apologies in advance if this doesn't work immediately for you!

The "This Week" view that's built in is not customizable but you can create your own Smart List that mimics it and adds the filtering you want. To do so while filtering out lists that include the text "DAR" you could search for the following:

(dueWithin:"1 week of today" OR dueBefore:today) AND NOT listContains:"DAR"

To make it closer to This Week, you can also use an advanced sort to group by due date.

I hope this helps but keep me posted on what you find! 💙
