repeating tasks not showing in smart lists

(closed account) says:
I have this strange problem.

Search: NOT dueAfter:tomorrow shows repeating tasks both for today and tomorrow. Fine.

Search: NOT dueAfter:today does not show repeating tasks for today! However, if I manually change the date from "5 Oct" to "today" - it appears in search results.

Can you help please?

parf, thanks for reporting this. We've done some testing on our end, but we're having some trouble reproducing this.

Next time you see this problem, would you mind contacting us and letting us know the search criteria as well as names of the tasks that you expect to see in the search results? Thanks!

trandolph, perhaps what your smartlists need is to include this search term in them?

isRepeating:false

I hope that helps.

Still no improvement, it happens again and again: repeated tasks not always shown in smartlists. No reaction to my request, so I have to explain the problem once again.

Some of my repeated tasks, due:today, are not shown in the smart lists, for example in this one:

Searched for: (priority:3 NOT dueAfter:today) OR (priority:2 AND dueBefore:tomorrow)

It is very annoying, because this way I can't trust my smart lists - I have to check all the tasks once again to see if there is something that I have to do today.

I believe that the first part (priority:3 NOT dueAfter:today) is to blame, not repeating the task itself.

Today is not a date, it's a date+time, where the time is 00:00.
Searhing for NOT dueAfter:today will return untimed tasks for today but not the timed tasks (due today 10:00 for example).

Try (priority:2 dueWithin:"1 day of today") instead.

Hope this helps!

Read in another post that overdue tasks are not found by dueWithin. Change the first part a little (prio=3, sorry for the confusion):

(priority:3 AND dueBefore:"1 day of today")

rajjan, thanks for your suggestion, but I do not have timed tasks at all, so it cannot be the case.

Did you try the latest suggestion and if so, did it change anything?

rajjan: but this way the items without a due date are lost?

Anyway, it is not the overdue tasks that do not appear. It is exactly the repeated tasks that have to be done today. The next day all of them appear as overdue.

Some of repeated tasks function correctly, and some others do not. Strange.

parf, I've followed up with you via email -- sorry for the delay.

I think this might actually be an account specific issue, but I'll detail that via email.

Thanks!

Emily, any chance that the situation improves? It's always the same problem: some repeated tasks are shown only the day after the due day.
