bobromeo, are you using Google Gears? We've had a few reports of Google Gears causing IE6 to crash -- we're hoping that Google will have this fixed soon with their next release (it's currently a developer release so may still have a few bugs).
It may be worth contacting Google and letting them know what happens and the error code that you receive -- they have a Google Group and there's also contact details at the bottom of this page.

If you're using Google Gears, I should also mention that until this is fixed you should be able to stop IE from attempting to load Gears by removing RTM from the list of allowed sites for Gears. You can do this in the 'Tools' menu then 'Google Gears Settings' (you could add it to the 'Denied Sites' if it continues to have problems loading). Hope this helps!

bobromeo, would it be possible to try clearing your browser's cache and cookies (if you haven't already)?
It may also be worth trying the secure HTTPS URL to access the site:

Please let me know if you continue to experience problems. Thanks!
(By the way, there aren't alerts sorry, but there is an RSS feed available for each forum if you'd like to follow the discussion.)

btw: my problems are solved because I downloaded Opera ;-), but willing to try IE6 if the monkey wants it.

If it's working in Opera, great :)
If you (or anyone else who experiences this issue) are interested, I found some troubleshooting tips for this kind of error in IE6 here.
It may be worth disabling all third-party add-ons and see if that helps:
1) Open Internet Explorer.
2) Click Tools to select Manage Add-ons.
3) Disable all third party Add-ons.
Then, restart the browser.
Thanks!
