Can you post a task to multiple lists

is it possible to post a task to multiple lists and delete them from one while keeping on another. An example would be having a task on one list, then acting on it but it requires a follow-up so you can retain it on a Follow-Up list?

It's not possible for a task to be in multiple lists, but that's a great use for tags or Smart Lists.

Smart Lists are essentially saved searches, so you could set those up to search for your follow-up tasks based on a tag or start/due date, or some other criteria that would work for you.

You could make it repeat but it would stay on the same list. But as andrewski mentions you could use a smart list to have it show up on a different (smart) list based on the due date.
