New Method for Disabling Smart Add Per Task?

At the moment it looks like the tilda character ('~') is used for adding a start date to a task as well as disabling Smart Add on a per task basis (http://bit.ly/21RPn4L). As you can probably imagine, this leads to some interesting results.
Using the Android mobile app I can add the following task:
~Talk to Bob about the meeting on January 24th
... and Smart Add doesn't kick in - the full text of the task is added to the inbox and no metadata is populated. Do the same thing using the web app and I get a task with a start date of Jan 24th 2017 named like this:
~"24/01/17"
Could we possibly get a new method for escaping Smart Add that's consistent across the web app and mobile please?
Cheers!
