HOLY GRAIL ACHIEVED!

Boy, if that headline didn't pull you in ... :)
Thanks to the advice of Michael Devore, a user in the Greasemonkey user script forums at Userscripts.Org ...
You now can have a Remember the Milk sidebar that is not fixed (which, it turns out, is very nonfunctional and un-useful), but that instantly appears next to where you've scrolled, with no boingy-boingy-boingy animation. :)
Alas, you'll need to be using Firefox and have the Greasemonkey extension installed:
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
http://www.greasespot.net/
And then, you can install the script by going here:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/7825
Woo-hoo, huh? :)

I wouldn't say it's quite the holy-grail. Why don't you like the animation?
perhaps it's a personal style thing.
for me, i love the animation to look at, but i also find it a bit distracting when i'm editing tasks at warp speed (like, "select all, tag as work, unselect several-ooooh, pretty, look at that!!!!...er, where was i up to?").
that might just be my attention deficit problems, but still, i gotta work with what i got - so i'd be pretty interested in wcitypoe's grail, if i only had firefox.
