putting the tabs on the left side of the page aligned vertically

I used to have the tabs aligned on the left of the page which I really like. Now they're back on the top and I can't remember what I did to get them aligned on the left. Can anyone out there point me in the right direction??

Showing lists vertically on the side isn't an option that's currently built-in to the site, so it may be that you had an add-on or extension that was doing this. Could it have been this one?
