Exclude multiple lists

Sorry, this may have been covered before but I'm having trouble finding the answer.

I want to create a smart list that excludes specific lists. I'm not exactly sure how this is done. I think it's something like this-

NOT (lists:"list1:list2")

It doesn't seem to work. How do I do this?

You're on the right track with your search, but you'll need to use a separate list: operator for each list. For example, try searching for:

NOT (list:"List 1" OR list:"List 2" OR list:"List 3")
