How to set default due date on a task in the web app

how can I set the default due date to "today" for tasks created in for example my "work" list? I'm using the web GUI for this.

It's not possible to set a default due date for new tasks in the web app, sorry. However, it may be helpful to use Smart Lists to inherit properties. For example, you could create a Smart List with the following search criteria:

list:Work AND due:today

Any tasks you add to this Smart List will automatically be added to your Work list and have a due date of today.
