Hi Leo,
As rajjan mentioned it's not currently possible to create a Smart List showing only the first 3 items, sorry.
Depending on your situation, you may want to try using tags to "mark" the 3 tasks you want to see. Based on the tag, you could then create a Smart List that displayed only these 3 tasks.
