smart list with the first 3 items of another (smart) list?

for GTD purposes i want to create a list only with the first 3 items of another (smart) list?

how can i do this?

That is impossible within RTM. There is no ordering within the smart searches, and no filtering based on that absent ordering.

Depending on your situation, you may want to try using tags to "mark" the 3 tasks you want to see. Based on the tag, you could then create a Smart List that displayed only these 3 tasks.
