Repeating tasks not showing up on internal list

Hello all,
I have an issue that I tried to find an answer to, but I'm apparently not getting the right keywords or something.
I want to set up repeating tasks for chores - stuff like "dust upstairs" every other Friday and "dust downstairs" on the alternating Fridays I don't hit the up stairs.
I tried setting things up with "repeat every second friday," but then they just repeat on the same Friday instead of alternating.
I then set things up for individual tasks with "repeat every month on the first friday" and "repeate every month on the third friday," which I suspect would work - but, just like my tasks that I listed as "repeat every Friday," nothing actually shows up on the task list of things to do. (My Friday is apparently empty today, which would be nice if true.)
So, my questions:
Do I need to set an initial due date for the first time for the task to start repeating and actually show up on the task list?
If so, can I set Friday due dates a week apart and get things to happen on alternating Fridays without having to do the "repeat every month on the first friday" workaround (that also misses when there's a fifth Friday or would mess up the alternating schedule)?
Thanks so much in advance,
Nick

Hi Nick,
Yes, it's important to set an initial due date. Beyond that, the repeat "every 2 weeks" should work for your dusting tasks (they'll automatically be due on Fridays thereafter).
Hope that helps! Let us know if there are any other tasks you're having trouble getting to repeat the way you want.
