Date Conversion Problem

an.educational.journey says:
I am entering school assignments and I am trying to enter the assignment number as: 1.1.12 - For Unit 1: Lesson 1: Assignment 12.

The problem is that the system is converting the 1.1.12 to a date of January 1, 2012 and my 1.1.12 is being dropped. The . format isn't listed as a date format here either: http://www.rememberthemilk.com/help/answers/basics/dateformat.rtm

Is there anything I can do to keep it from being formatted. I really don't want to write out Unit 1: Lesson 1: Assignment 12 as it is really long and I am planning on emailing the tasks to my remember the milk account and the lines would be so long they would truncate and be listed as two separate posts.

I should add that one reason why I am using the 1.1.12 format is that I need all the tasks listed in a certain order before they are assigned a date.

Hi an.educational.journey,

One option may be to enclose the assignment number in double quotes to prevent Smart Add from trying to parse it. For example:

Assignment "1.1.12"

This would create a task called Assignment "1.1.12" with no due date.

Hope that helps!
