Not before date?

(closed account) says:
GTD talks about a group of tasks called "As soon as possible" (self-explanatory). Then there are "Calendar" tasks that are tasks that absolutely have to occur on the specified day .

I have tasks that are "As soon as possible" tasks but cannot be started before a certain date.

It would be great to have a "Not before" date field which clears as soon as the date matures.

Hi spaceplan,
It sounds like what you're suggesting is similar to a "start date", which defines the first date a task can be acted upon. If you haven't done so, you may want to vote for this in our Ideas forum here.

You may also be interested in sleeper tags as a way to hide tasks until the appropriate date.

Thanks for your feedback on this!
