Date Created

pjpw says:
I think it would be very handy if RTM could record the Date Created for a task or reminder. For those tasks or reminders where a due date is not critical or even necessary it would be very useful from a review perspective to ensure that "someday" or "one day" tasks are not left in limbo indefinitely.

The date that a task was created is recorded. While you can not modify this date manually, you can search for tasks based on this date using the "added" search operators. For example, the following search will display all tasks created this year:

addedAfter:12/31/2010

You can find out more about these search operators here.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Brendan but I was meaning I would like to see it displayed in the task details frame when a task or reminder is highlighted.

Thanks for your feedback on this.

Generally this date is not displayed, but if you perform a search using one of the "added" search operators, you will be able to see the "Added" date in the task details to the right of your task list.

Hope that helps!

Thanks Brendan.

I still think it would be a desirable feature without having to perform a search to see it.

If you haven't already, you may also want to vote for this in our Ideas forum. This thread suggests the ability to sort by the added date.

I note from the thread mentioned by Brendan that it originated back in 2009 and judging by the lack of comment from RTM it has not even contemplated.

As I noted in the thread surely this feature would not be too difficult to implement as the date added is already captured by RTM, just not displayed by default.
