Repeat & Complete
rtmcsm says:
I created a task that repeats every friday until a certain date. I missed the first in the series. I thought I might postpone it hoping that it would jump to the next in the series, but instead it just postponed the first in the series to the current day. No matter, I thought, I'll just mark the first in the series complete. However, when I do that the entire series is completed instead.
Is there a way to complete tasks in a series as you go along? Also, if I don't mark the series complete, then the series is always the first task when sorting by the due date in the inbox and shows up as overdue in the overview as the first date in the series is now in the past.
If I had my druthers, I suppose I would like the due date to jump to the next in the series when I complete a task which has repeating items left. What am I missing and/or is there a workaround?
Thanks!

In the first situation you mentioned, I'm not sure why completing one task would have completed the entire series. If there are multiple occurrences of a task in a series, each occurrence can be completed independently.
Is it possible that your series was created using an "after" repeat interval? Using this kind of repeat, a new occurrence of the series will only be created at the time you complete the last occurrence of the task. You should only see one occurrence of the series at a time in your list. You can find more about the difference between "every" and "after" repeat intervals here.
If this doesn't explain the behavior you're seeing, would you be able to contact us so we can get some additional details?
Hope that helps!
