You can't. You can go "vote" for them to put this feature in, which is stupid, because it should be there already.

Hi Matze,
Thanks for your feedback. You may find that you need to use "every month" (and set the due date to the last day) or even "every month on the 28th" (which will prevent any issues when creating instances in future months).

Hope this helps!

hello andrew.

i feared a problem with a specific day (number). so i tried to find a way not to use the due date. Sounds u expect them to?

Well, i need the very last day so i used a starting month with 31. days. We'll see.

Do you have a solution for "working day"s to?

thanks a lot!

Hi Matze,
You don't need to use a specific day in your repeat, but even if you don't, the repeat will be based on the due date or completion date, and could likely produce an unexpected result.

Regarding working days, you can use "weekdays" to good effect, but I'm not sure if that's what you mean. What are you looking to do?

Andrewski, just admit the feature doesn't exist, instead of offering "solutions" that aren't at all what the person is looking for. He's not looking for the 28th day of every month.

wcitypoe,
You're correct, it's not currently possible to create a task that repeats on the last day of each month. However, depending on the situation, many users are able to work around this by creating a task that repeats on the 28th of each month.

Another option that sometimes helps is to create 12 separate tasks, one per month, that repeat yearly and are due on the last day of the month.

Hope that helps!

I've figured out that you can do it with six tasks rather than 12.

Do a task to occur on the 31st of January (or whatever is the next month with 31 days) and set it to repeat every month. It will only repeat on months that have a 31st - so that covers you for January, March, May, July, August, October and December.

Create one task each for April, June, September and November 30th, and set them to repeat yearly.

Create a task for February for the 28th, repeated yearly (yes you'll have to postpone it a day on a leap year. I can't work out a way around that one!)

You see, the criticism I have is that your "workaround" isn't responsive. He's asking for a carrot and you're suggesting a potato. A potato isn't a carrot.

He wants the last day of every month. You're suggesting the 28th.

The 28th isn't the last day of every month.

Remember the Milk can't do what he's asking for. PERIOD. Own up to it.

That's my criticism of your response.

Somehow my sound alert stopped working in both the iPad and iPhone. So when the task time is due, the alert doesn't sound. Any clue how to solve this? I checked all sound settings in RMT and the iPhone are they seem to be OK.
