Backing Up Completed Tasks

digitap says:
I've identified an issue with my Windows OS based HTC Touch Pro 2 and completed tasks. I have MilkSync installed on my HTC syncing to the native Task Manager application. In this setup, all is working quite well. However, I spawn tasks and complete tasks like crazy. As such, I've noticed that Task Manager gets slower and slower as it filters between completed tasks and active tasks.

I created a support ticket asking about this. The final result was support suggested I export from the Info tab, "iCalendar Service (All Lists)" viewing the ICS file as reference. In an attempt to try this within Outlook 2007, we discovered that Outlook will not import the completed tasks as To Do items. Support indicated that Outlook 2010 does this, but Outlook 2007. I asked support if they had a list of applications that would allow this. They have not responded and a second query has been met with continued silence.

I'm reaching out to the RTM community for suggestions on such a list. I've scoured the Internet and wasted many hours looking for something. I just want to view. No manipulation. Just view. Perhaps I'm using the wrong process. If anyone has suggestions, I'm all ears.

I'm naturally long winded, so I apologize for the wordy post.

Andrew in support provided what I need so I could put together my final solution. I setup a new Task for my archived tasks. I then searched All Tasks for "completedBefore:today" and archived the results into my new task list. I archived the task list. In order to see the archived tasks, I setup a new search for "includeArchived:true completedBefore:today" then saved the search. Thanks Andrew!

I want to revise my earlier post. I found that "completedBefore:today" didn't net the best search results. "completedBefore:now" was the best trick. I entered this into the Tips and Tricks forum.

Hey digitap,
Glad to hear that's helped! Let us know if you have any other questions about this setup, your original question, or any other tips as well. :)
