Move RTM to the right-hand side of google in IE8

Hello, I've enabled the right-hand chat lab, but am unable to drag and drop the RTM from the left to the right (I can move it, but when I drop it, it just snaps back to the left)
Has anyone tried this successfully, and if so, what am I doing wrong? I do not want to change browsers.

Unfortunately, it's not currently possible to display the browser add-on on the left side of the Gmail page. It displays on the right side in all browsers. Sorry for any inconvenience.
