Automatically completing tasks after Due Time

Is there a way to have a task automatically complete after the time has passed?

I need reminders for certain events, but after the event has passed, it's done whether I could make it to it or not.

In the meantime, it may be helpful to search for all overdue tasks with the following search:
dueBefore:today

You could then save this as a Smart List and easily select all tasks in this list and complete them.
