It's not currently possible to automatically send an email notification to your contact when sending or sharing a task; sorry for the inconvenience.

In the meantime, you might be able to accomplish what you need by having your contact subscribe to the RSS feed for their Inbox. They will then receive a notification via RSS when a new task is added to their Inbox.
