Adding tasks on the site with due date in text line possible?

ethansteinman says:
When I'm using rmilk.com to add tasks, my default screen is a Smart List filtering "dueBefore:today or due:today". List is called "Today". When I add a task in the "Add a new task" field, is there a way to give it a due date there? I've tried adding "Due:today" but it doesn't seem to hang onto the task, and the task gets sent to my inbox without a due date.

Thanks for helping out!

If you have Smart Add enabled, you can set the Due Date using the ^ symbol. For example, the following task will be due tomorrow at 3:25pm:
New Task ^tomorrow 3:25pm

There are lots of other shortcut symbols you can use with Smart Add. You can find a full list here.

Hope that helps!

Stupid question... on a Macintosh, how do I type the circumflex? I've tried the OPTION+I combo but doesn't seem to work within RTM

ethan,
The character you're looking for is the caret. This page gives more detail on it.

As cobrastyle suggested, this character is Shift+6 on some keyboards, but it can vary depending on your keyboard layout and OS.

If you're not able to find it, let me know your keyboard layout and OS and we'll try to find the specifics of how to insert the character.

Hope that helps!
