Either you add a duration of 16 h/3 days etc, but the task will only be visible on the due date. Or you add a task with a repeat, say daily for 5 days. This way, you will see the current instance and once that is overdue, you will see the next instance.

Currently you can't create a task that spans more than a day. Sorry for the inconvenience. However, the due date can be any time in the future, and you can use some of rajjan's suggestions to work around this.
