It appears that certain Gmail themes do not display the task names. I've added this to our list to investigate. In the meantime, you may want to try using a different theme that doesn't have the problem.
These are the themes that appear to be affected by this:
* Not visible: New Blue, Night Shade, Shiny, Beach, Mountains, Pebbles, Summer Ocean, Phantasea, Ninja, Orcas Island, High Score, Turf
* Technically visible but with only minimal contrast: Sunset, High Contrast Black, Desk, Planets
All other themes should work.

Also, depending which gmail skin you use (or if you use the google redesigned firefox add on), if the task names are visible, sometimes the details fly out and the options menu are not visible. The text seems to be there, but the color makes it impossible to see.
