multi-edit - can I disable it?

When the Smart Add feature is enabled, there is no need to turn multi-edit on or off. You can find more details in this blog post under the "Bonus tweaks (read this!)" section.
If you turn off Smart Add, you can enable or disable multi-edit mode manually.
