Previous task should be unchecked when adding a new task

akrde says:
It's very irritating that when adding a new task, the new task AND previous task(s) are both checked now. The previous task(s) should be automatically unchecked when adding a new task!

It often happens, that i delete a checked task and don't see in the long task list that there are still some other checked tasks because they were added recently.

Hitting n regularly isn't really a solution here.

Please vote +1, if you agree that this behaviour should be changed.

Thank you...

Here's reply I got, with my reply on their reply:

This is so that you can make further changes to a group of tasks—e.g. changing a due date and then adding a tag, etc.

You can click the 'None' link at the top to deselect all checked tasks or press 'n' on your keyboard to do the same.

Hope this helps!

My Reply

Not really no. Firstly this is not default windows behaviour. Secondly the point is that you want to do something with different tasks, you first have to go and deselect the checkboxes.

Looking at the forums I am not the first person who complained about this, but for some reason you obviously think its a good idea.

This is irritating enough for me to go somewhere else.

Thanks for your feedback.

akrde,
This behavior will only happen if you have Smart Add off; we changed this behavior when we introduced Smart Add, and it sounds like you may prefer the (now default) behavior to have Smart Add on.

joydivision,
If I understand right, you're talking about a slightly different issue: when performing an action on selected tasks, they stay selected after that action.
