How do I tag something in the entry bar?

For instance, I like creating shopping lists with the businesses as tags (as mentioned in a recent-ish tips & tricks), but I can't figure out how to add tags like you can add due dates. For anyone else out there trying to figure this out, it's #list and #tag, where list and tag are the list and tag (hah!) that you want your task to have. Took forever to find it, but totally worth it.
