Need help with Locations on Android

spikx says:
Hello, I am using the RTM App on my HTC Wildfire. Today I wanted to try the Location feature for the first time.

As far as I understood it, RTM should remind me of a task, when I set a location for it, if I come in reach of 1 km of that location (or whatever I set in the options).

However, nothing happened. Are there any additional requirements I am missing?

Forgot to add this: I didn't activate the GPS option within the RTM settings. I only activated 'Location Alert' and set the 'Nearby Radius' to 2 km. 'Check Location' was left at 'Every 2 minutes'

spikx,
You may want to increase your radius, even if it seems unnecessarily wide, just to test that it's working.

Let me know what you find!

Funny, I am getting the exact opposite. I am getting alerted every hour or so. I have mine set to alert me when I am within 2 miles of the item. But I am being alerted when I am 15 miles or more away!

Well, after creating yet another task with yet another location it worked. It also worked then with a new task on a previous location.

However, I encountered a different problem now: I deleted and completed some of those tasks, yet I *still* get a location alert everytime I come near one of the locations again. When I open the RTM app then, it will show me the Tasks for that location, however, since I already deleted/completed them, it's empty.

I deleted all my locations again in order to fix it. I will do further testing.

I am finding that the reminders regarding location seem to be working if I enter the task from the web site but not for tasks entered on the Andriod.... I'm not 100% sure yet, still testing but this seems to be what I'm seeing.

If you haven't done so already, would it be possible to submit an Android issue report via our support system?

Please select the issue that you're experiencing from the list on the left, and follow the steps shown. If your issue isn't listed, just click on "I'd like to report a new issue" on the left.

Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.

Thanks!
