Shared Routine Tasks
watkins.family says:
I have tasks that are to repeated daily (Feed the Dog) and tasks that need to be repeated only after completed (Sweep the Porch). These tasks need to be passed from person to person.
So on Monday I will send the task to my daughter who will check it off.
On Tuesday I need to send it to my son for him to do.
I have Completed and Uncompleted Tab for each child and everything works well until...
They all end up with the tasks on their lists subsequent days causing confusion.

This is because shared tasks cannot be unshared or the sent tasks will remain in their sent folder if it is a recurring task that is completed and send back to me and reassigned to someone else.
Is there a way to solve this?

andrewski (Remember The Milk) says:
Instead of setting the task to repeat, you may wish to duplicate it and send each instance to each of your kids.
You could then set it to repeat longer, e.g. every week or every Monday, Thursday, Saturday, etc.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the info. Doing it this way will cause a lot of extra work for me because I will now have to check off the master list when a task is completed but you're right - so far that is the only thing I have tried that works.
I know I could just keep the master list without due dates etc. but there are multiple benefits to having the truly be a duplicate so they pull up the same on lists etc.
