Completely Offline with Google Gears

lighthouse084 says:
Is this scenario possible?

1.] Launch RTM as a Google Gears "webapp" from Chrome (ie giving it its own serparate window).
2.] Click the offline button and have your RTM database synced to your computer, and make a few changes to your RTM lists.
3.] Close the RTM window and shutdown your laptop and go wherever you need to go.
4.] Start your laptop and stay offline and still be able to access the RTM app.
5.] Sync-up when you have internet access again.

Is this possible? Right now, I use hibernation to solve the issue of being able to access RTM offline and shutting down my computer. I would love to be able to store the RTM app locally and then be able to shut the app (and the computer) and then start it again, even when completely offline. Then, when I have internet access, I would be able to sync back up again.

Is this possible right now?

This should be easily possible, especially given that I can read (kind-of) all my tasks in the Google Gears plugin folder inside the Chrome application folder.

Hi lighthouse084,
Your steps are how the Offline with Gears service should work. Does this not work for you?

(Keep in mind that Gears has some problems and that it's no longer supported, so just keep your eye out for any problems if you use it. :)

Hope this helps!

Everything seems to be working fine now.
I guess it was a temporary glitch.
I did redo the entire web app thing though.

Gears works fine. Nevertheless, I cannot wait to see the HTML5 version of RTM.
