Lists and Smart Lists not synchronizing between computers

mark.jaggassar says:
Hey all,

I've been using RTM for about a month now and I'm really loving it. However, I've been noticing some problems of late with both lists and smart lists not synchronizing across my machines, and I'm getting worried that data is being lost.

Here are the details:

- I'm using Chrome across three machines, version 5.x or 6.x (now standardized on 6.0.472.55
- On one machine, RTM has the "A bit better RTM add-on", but it gets run very infrequently
- Accessing from 3 different computers, always online (haven't yet worked online, sometimes I go offline and right back online to see what synchronizing would fix this problem)
- I have upwards of 38 lists and 20 smart lists

The problem is, with regards to regular lists, I have some lists that show twice. I created a list called "ps-Web" and it was showing up twice.

The more important problem is, I have smart lists that I can only see from my work computer. I've logged off and on numerous times at home, and sometimes that fixes the problem for some lists, but there are still smart lists that I only see at work.

Thoughts? Suggestions? Is 60 lists abusive?

I really enjoy RTM, and if I'm successful with it for a few months I would consider becoming a paid subscriber, but if I can't trust that my data is being saved properly, then I'm going to have to search for another solution.

Hi mark.jaggassar,
If you have this problem with A Bit Better RTM and any other userscripts disabled, would it be possible to submit a Tasks & Lists issue report via our support system?

Please select the issue that you're experiencing from the list on the left, and follow the steps shown. If your issue isn't listed, just click on "I'd like to report a new issue" on the left.

Your report should provide all the info that we need to investigate further, but we'll be in touch via email if we require any more details.

Thanks!

My setup is similar in terms of number of smartlists and tasks.

I have noticed that sometimes the version of RTM that is up on my home computer seems to be a stale cached copy. I leave the RTM web site up all the time, but while out at work I may add tasks, or while running around I may add tasks from the android app. When I get back, the data is stale. Most times, I can click on the cow and refresh everything, but sometimes it doesn't seem to work that way. I then may do a control-F5 to force a refresh, but I am never quite certain if it is up to date.

My suggestion? Can we have a "refresh" button or link along with some sort of label that describes when the data was last updated? I.e. a label at the top that says "Tasks Synced as of 4:05pm"?

I have admittedly not been very scientific in my research on this issue, but my programmer take on it is that the AJAX-y refreshes are happening, but there is no visual feedback when they complete.

I feel like my description here has not been very helpful, but I think this is a definite issue. It's become a lot more noticeable to me as my wife has started using (and adding tasks for me in) RTM.
