Cannot seem to delete list

I have tried several times to delete a list. The list does not have any tasks in it whatsoever. Yet every time I come back to the RTM site the list is back. I've tried deleting it via the web as well as via my iPhone. I just can't seem to keep it from coming back again.
Any idea how to permanently delete this thing?

I used that method to delete the list, but it reappeared. I just now archived it and will see if that does the trick. Why would archive work but not delete? Ultimately I'd like to delete it so it doesn't show on the list of lists under Settings.
