Repeat every (x) hours

Is there a way to have an item repeat after so many hours? I have tried entering this in the repeat but it says it doesn't recognize the repeat interval.

Unfortunately this isn't possible; sorry for the inconvenience. Repeats are only valid in increments of days.
You may wish to duplicate a given task and change the due date for the number of hours you wish to offset it.
