Is there a way to change two or more properties atomically?

dfm says:
Is there a way to change two or more properties (e.g. tags, due date, priority, completion status) as a single, atomic action?

This comes up frequently for me as I have a bunch of fairly complicated smart lists, where multiple properties determine what's in the list, and changing one of them takes it out of the list and therefore makes it hard to change another.

For example, I have a smart list of things where both the date and priority might make something an element of the list. If it's a repeating task, and the repeat shouldn't have the same, high priority, there's no way to demote it and complete it: if I demote its priority first, it leaves the list and I have to go hunt for it elsewhere to complete it. If I complete it first, the repeat gets scheduled elsewhere, with the same, high priority, and again I have to go hunt it down elsewhere to demote its priority. What I'd really like to be able to do is say "mark this task as completed AND at the same time change its priority to such and so."

Any ideas?

Hi dfm,

Apologies for the delay -- I can't think of a way to do this, sorry. :(

Properties and completion status can only be changed one by one; we don't have any kind of edit mode that would allow multiple properties to be edited before saving the changes. Interesting idea, though!
